Basic Tarot
This workshop will discuss the origins of Tarot, the basic correspondences and meanings of the suits and how to do a
reading. Beginners tend to read the Tarot using the little book in the box but this class will show you how to start using the
images to open your psychic intuition and begin real readings for yourself and others. The ethics of Tarot will be discussed.

Tarot Study Group

Introduction to Therapeutic Touch
This is a basic workshop that will explain the history of Therapeutic Touch (TT) and how to do it. Plenty of practice time. TT is an energy healing that does not necessarily include touching and is based on the ancient practice of “laying on of hands”. It is non-denominational and easy to use. TT helps with healing, relaxation, pain and many other problem.

Wiccan Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic Touch is derived from the ancient practice of laying-on of hands. It is connected to the concept of universal life energy and field theory, which sees all energy as interconnected and in movement. This four hour workshop will teach participants the basics of TT which they can begin using immediately to help others. Following a Wiccan framework we will then incorporate the Elements and God/Goddess energy in the work as well as exploring the ethics of TT in relation to the Rede and the Rule of Three. Self-TT and distance-TT will also be addressed. No prior experience is necessary. An understanding of Wiccan principals would be helpful

Love Spells
Love Spells are wonderful complicated weavings that touch us on many levels. We must learn to love ourselves, open ourselves to the Harmony of the Universe, and open ourselves to the possibility of love and abundance. Even for people already in a happy relationship this workshop will show you how to deepen your love with magickal workings using energy, songs, herbs, stones and other methods. All are welcome.

The Witches Shield: Protection Magick
Protection magick involves strengthening our circle casting, creating wards, making talismans for our home, strengthening our auras and many other things. We are not focusing on paranoia but rather strengthening our energy and the energy of all that surrounds us to attract the positive and repel the negative. Crystal Magick & Healing
This workshop will help individuals cleanse, charge, and use their crystals in energy work. We will explore methods of meditation with crystals for healing and balance. Living the Magickal Life
This is a 9-week course. This is a new course offered at Avalon for the first time and some of the mysteries of the 3 Cauldrons will be explored:
The Cauldron of the Dagda contains:

Beginner-level Shamanism
Shamanism has its roots in ancient tribal cultures, dating as far back as 40,000 years if not longer. Learn Shamanic Journeying to restore spiritual health and power. Using the beat of a drum, or the sound of a rattle participants enter into an altered state of consciousness to explore hidden worlds traveled by our ancient ancestors. This workshop will explain as well as introduce the concepts of the Lower, Middle and Upper Worlds. As well as help you find your power animal, a powerful guide who has many lessons to teach you.
Shamanism is a practice, and a way for each of us to experience the web of the universe as a whole. This workshop explores the concept that everything is alive, interconnected and flowing with a power greater than we can imagine.

Deepen your understanding and work with the Celtic myth cycle and Shamanic practice. This workshop will focus on the Shamanic Journey into Annwn (the lower world) beyond the 9th wave, where the islands of Annwn bring transformation and healing. Guided Visualization
Explore this technique that helps you relax and reduce stress. This method of mediation begins with relaxing both body and mind. You are then guided through a peaceful scene and you get in touch with your intuition. Come journey within and find a deeper awareness of self that teaches a powerful way to revitalize mind and spirit.

Insight Meditation Group
Each human being has the potential to experience a permanent state of clarity, openness and connection with the love of the Divine. In this state our consciousness is transformed and we are no longer affected by suffering. Meditation is one way to achieve this transformation and the process of practicing meditation immediately helps the practitioner to cope with day-to-day stress and gain greater insight to his or her inner truths. Prayer & Mantras
At this workshop we will explore prayer and mantras and how they can change our consciousness in our daily lives. A powerful way to connect with your spirit that is ancient and awe inspiring.
Praying has many different forms. A variety of body postures may be assumed, often with specific meaning. They may also be recited, chanted, or sung.
Mantras are a form of prayer. Mantras start as a powerful vibration which corresponds to a specific spiritual energy and a state of consciousness in seed form. Ultimately, the mantra produces a state where we are completely in tune with the energy and spiritual state contained within the mantra.

Sacred Dance
The primary focus of Sacred Dance is on healing our relationship between spirit and ourselves. Through Dance we disappear, become more like our spirit, and less attached to our difficulties. We can call this Dance 'Meditation in Motion'.

Ninjutsu Practice Group
For those interested in learning the basics of Ninjutsu, an ancient Japanese Martial Art, please join us on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 PM with Meri or Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 PM with Pierre. Clothing and other supplies must be provided by the practitioner. No prior experience is necessary but a certain level of physical fitness is required.
Instructor: Meri Fowler and Pierre; Cost is $35/month for Meri's class and $45/month for Pierre's class with a $50/year inscription fee. Discount available for those wishing to take both classes. First class is free.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi, or Taiji Quan, is one of the traditional Wushu styles which have very long history. For more information, please visit the Sino-Wushu Academy web site. On Wednesday evenings, we offer Yang Style Tai Chi (Taiji) & Qigong for beginners. Students can register any time. Fee: on 3-month term. First class is free.
